A BRIEF OUTLINE OF WHAT LIES AHEAD
18 Months
First of all, Congratulations! You are embarking on a journey of preparation for marriage and the rest of your life. Take some time to share your news with family and friends. This is a time of great joy for you as a couple and those who love you.
At this stage, it is helpful to make contact with your Minister, to decide on the Church in which you will get married or perhaps if you would prefer a civil wedding and to start to think about your ceremony.
12 Months
By this stage you are likely to have identified the Church or venue in which you will be married. If you intend music to play an integral part in your Ceremony, it is useful to start thinking about this now as well as music for your evening reception should you wish one.
9 Months
You are likely to be about to attend your Marriage Preparation Course should you not be a member of the church. This is a time to meet with your minister and discuss your forthcoming wedding. The marriage preparation course may not be required by all, very much dependent on your chosen minister and church.
3 Months
You will be surrounded by to-do lists at this stage. This is the time to meet up with us again to discuss the where things are at. Don’t worry we will have been in touch every step of the way so far.
1 Month
Another time to meet up again and finalise all the details and ensure everything you want in place is in place. We will ensure any loose ends are tied up.
The Big Day
When you wake up and realise that today is the day, you might well feel overwhelmed! This is the day when the most important person in your life will pledge to love and honour you forever...
The day will pass very quickly through its three main stages. The first is the getting ready stage. For both bride and groom, time and attention will be made making yourself look great and putting on that special outfit for the occasion. Some butterflies would be normal but fight them off with a glass of Champagne and eat well before you head into the day. Stage two is the ceremony itself. By the time the bride arrives at the Church or the venue, the whole congregation of invited guests, clergy, and onlookers will have gathered in anticipation.
The third stage is the move from Church to venue and the meal, speeches, music and your chance to let your hair down. Again time will pass quickly and you are likely to be absorbed in the company of all the people who have come to spend this day with you.
